The Università del Piemonte Orientale, is a public Italian University
established in 1998. It has 7 Departments and one School of Medicine, 15.000 students approximately,
400 teachers/researchers, 350 members of technical and administrative staff, about 130 PhD students
and 100 post-doc positions. The University offers a full range of academic disciplines (Economics,
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Law and Political Science, Social Science, Medicine and Surgery, Natural
Sciences, Humanities) to embrace a large number of activities: basic and representative courses,
laboratories, apprenticeships, training periods and international exchanges.
The UPO crucial aim is to strengthen the integration of the community in national and international
networks by promoting scientific and cultural exchanges. To this respect, the mobility of students and
researchers is widely supported. UPO has been acknowledged as a competent partner of the European
Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Union body for risk assessment regarding food safety.

Accirculatre is a Brussels-based consulting firm focused on Circular Economy and Circular Supply
Chains, with a broader coverage of the Environmental sustainability domain, and a PM² Alliance
Affiliated Training Provider. ACC will contribute to the green matters focusing on Circular
Economy. ACC is active on research & innovation, professional training and consulting and it can
count on an international team of experienced and qualified experts, and independent advisors and
consultants.

Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) is a state scientific-technological university established in 1863 which
trains engineers, architects and industrial designers. Education is at Bachelor, Master’s, and PhD level.

POLIMI is one of the leading Italian research centers characterized by the combination of theoretical

University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 is a French state university hosting approximately 30,000 students.
It is located in the center of Lyon – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the second largest university
town in France. It offers a learning and research space focused on the humanities and social sciences
with programs ranging from two-year foundation degrees to PhDs. With seven doctoral schools and
19 research units, the University develops high-level interdisciplinary research linked to major social
issues.
Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University was awarded the “HR Excellence in Research” label by the European
Commission on October 4, 2018. It is the first institution of the University of Lyon and the Auvergne-
Rhône-Alpes region to obtain this label.

Make Mothers Matter is an international NGO established in 1947 at the UNESCO. We act
through advocacy, network and communication. Our poles of action are education, health, peace
and economy. We federate an expanding network of member associations and partners active in
the field around the world reaching over 10 million mothers globally. MMM voices the concerns
of mothers at the European Union, UNESCO and the United Nations.
Our main areas of activity at EU level include maternal health, gender equality, and conciliation
between work and family life. Effectively targeting decision makers and other relevant
stakeholders using a variety of channels is one of the strengths of MMM.

B12 Consulting – IT Consulting company specialising in solving complex business
solutions through innovation. Our activities involve design and implementation of advanced,
custom software and AI solutions.
During their secondments, researchers will participate in all aspects of data science or
software dev. projects related to real business needs of our clients, including analysis, design
and implementation of the solution using industry standard processes, as well as
communication with the client (e.g. presentations, meetings). The goal of the secondments
is to strengthen transferable skills which are not emphasised in academic curricula.

WeAreStarting Srl is an Italian equity crowdfunding platform authorized by Consob since 2014
and active since 2015. It selects and supports Italian startup and SMEs in getting funded through
its portal, that enables retail and professional investors to become shareholders of selected
companies. WeAreStarting completed more than 50 successful offerings, with an amount raised
exceeding 9 million euros. According to the Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano on
crowdfunding, WeAreStarting is a member of the Eurocrowd association.
